Description:
Reconstruction of a new Road and Culvert Bridge across Stanhope Creek which had been completely destroyed and washed away in a severe 100year Storm and Flood event. These works included :
- Detailed cut/fill earthworks and foundation preparation works including additional rectification and repair of eroded road/creek embankments up to 8m in height.
- Detailed Logistics and Planning options to enable access of plant, vehicles and materials to the extreme remote and isolated creek area. This included traversing 3-5km of steep and tight winding roads which limited truck and heavy vehicle material deliveries.
- Design and Construction of a Reinforced Concrete Box Culvert Bridge Structure with apron slabs and embankment protected wingwalls.
- Excavation and Construction of New Pavement Sealed Roads to both Bridge entry and exit
- Construction and Detailed Filling and compaction of New Road Embankments with erosion protection matting and new vegetation and Plantings to assist rehabilitation of creek embankments.
